The Guyana 500 Dollar Banknote was released by the Bank of Guyana between 2011 and 2019 in a color combination of lilac and purple. On its obverse are the bank logo and the map of Guyana. The reverse of the paper bill depicts the Parliament building in Georgetown, palm trees, and a cannon. The note carries a holographic stripe with the bank logo, a macaw, and BOG. It also contains a windowed security thread with a demetallized GUYANA and a watermark that reflects a red macaw parrot’s head and an electrotype 500. The note measures 156 x 65 mm and was printed by Giesecke & Devrient. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
