The Haiti 1,000 Gourdes Banknote was issued by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti In 2009. The note has a color combination of violet, blue, and yellow. Featured on its obverse is the 16th president, Florvil Hyppolite, a sailing ship, the crowned coat of arms of Port-au-Prince, and a holographic starburst. The reverse of the note depicts buildings, trucks, and shoppers at Marche Valliere (market) in Port-au-Prince. The banknote has a windowed security thread with demetallized 1000 GOURDES. It also has watermark varieties. It is 151 x 70 mm in size and has been signed by Philippe W. Lahens, Marc Hebert Ignace, and Charles Castel. This particular banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
