The Historys Mysteries: Jack the Ripper 1 Penny Coin was issued by the United Kingdom in 1877 featuring the second laureate portrait of Queen Victoria and an inscription VICTORIA D:G: BRITT:REG: F:D which means Victoria, by the Grace of God Queen of the Britains Defender of the Faith. On the reverse is the seated Britannia facing right, holding a trident in her left hand and a shield depicting the Union flag in the other hand. A lighthouse and a ship are also visible. This 1 penny coin was in circulation in the Whitechapel district where Jack The Rippers’ victims do their business. The coin is made of bronze and weighs 9.45 grams. It has a diameter of 30.8 mm and is 1.6 mm thick. The coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that guarantees its genuineness.
