Its obverse side features a portrait of Jose Cecilio Diaz del Valle, a Spanish politician that plays a big role in Central America's transition from being a colonial government to independence. A Mayan glyph as a registration device and the Rio Choluteca suspension bridge in Choluteca is also added on the front design. The reverse side features the casa Donde nacio del Sabio Valle, the ancestral house where the politician was born. The note measures 156 x 67 mm and contains a windowed security thread with demetalized BCH 100 and a watermark image of Jose Cecilio Diaz del Valle and electrotype BCH as part of its security features.
