The Hong Kong - HSBC 1,000 Dollar Banknote was released by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in 2013. The orange banknote features a lion statue on its obverse. It also depicts the HSBC headquarters building. The reverse of the note displays Dragon Boat Festival racing. The note contains a green-to-magenta windowed security thread with a demetallized HK1000 and a large HK made up of letters. It also bears a watermark that reveals a bauhinia flower and an electrotype 1000 on a pixelized design. The paper bill measures 163 x 81.5 mm and is signed by Chief Financial Julian Fong Loong Choon. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
