This 100 Hong Kong dollar note was introduced by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation in 2012. It is dated 1 January 2014 and signed by Peter T. S. Wong. The red note measures 153 mm x 76.5 mm. Its obverse side features the HSBC headquarters building, a lion statue, and a SPARK feature of a lion’s head and a 100. Its reverse side depicts a marching band celebrating the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Establishment Day. Security features include an HSBC logo registration device, a green-to-magenta windowed security thread with demetalized 100 and large HK text made up of small letters, and a watermark of a Bauhinia flower with an electrotype 100 on a pixelized design. It is also a superb gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced very minor handling, and has slightly off-center margins and registration. Thus, it is graded 68 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
