This 100 Hong Kong dollar note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corporation (HSBC). It is a red note that is dated 01 January 2018, bears the signature of Peter T. S. Wong, and measures 153 mm x 76.5 mm. Its obverse side features the HSBC headquarters building, the HSBC logo, a lion statue, and a yue qin (stringed musical instrument) with 100 in green SPARK Orbital. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and shows characters in a Cantonese Opera and the HSBC logo. Security features include a Galaxy windowed security thread with Saturn effect and demetallized 100 and yue qin, a denomination registration device, and a watermark of a Bauhinia flower with an electrotype 100.
