It was issued in January 2014 with enhanced security features including a green-to-magenta windowed security thread with demetalized HK20 and a large HK made up of small letters, a Bauhinia flower watermark, and electrotype 20. The obverse side of the note depicts the HSBC headquarters building, the bank logo as the registration device, a lion statue, a lions head, and a numeric 20 in SPARK. The reverse side features local children with lanterns celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and the HSBC logo. This particular banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
