This 50 Hong Kong dollar banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Standard Chartered Bank. It is a green, brown, orange, and blue banknote that is dated 1 January 2010, bear the signatures of Chief Financial Officer Julian Fong Loong Choon and Benjamin Hung, and measures 148 mm x 74 mm. Its obverse side shows the mythical Black Tortoise, a bank logo pattern, and a SPARK 50. Its reverse side depicts the Chinese combination lock and vault. Security features include a magenta-to-gold windowed security thread with a demetalized HK50 and a watermark of a Bauhinia blakeana flower with an electrotype 50 on a pixelated background. Additionally, the note is qualified for PMG’s Exceptional Paper Quality (EPQ), slightly off-center margins and registration, and minor handling. The note is graded 68 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
