This 500 Hong Kong dollar note is dated 2014 and signed by HSBC Chief Executive Peter T. S. Wong. It is a brown note that measures 158 mm x 79 mm. Its obverse side shows the HSBC headquarters building, a lion statue, and a SPARK feature of a lion head and 500. Its reverse side depicts a Lunar New Year celebration with lion dancing. Security features include an HSBC logo registration device, a green-to-magenta windowed security thread with demetalized HK500 and large HK made up of small letters, and a watermark of a Bauhinia flower with an electrotype pixelized 500. It is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
