This 50 Hong Kong dollar note was introduced by the Bank of China in 2004. It is a green note that measures148 mm x 74 mm, is dated 1 January 2009, and bears the signature of He Guangbei. Its obverse side features the Bank of China Tower, Bauhinia flowers, chrysanthemum flowers, and the Bank of China logo. Its reverse side shows a view of the Clock Tower and the Promenade of the Star Ferry Piers on Kowloon. Security features include a solid security thread, a 4-mm wide windowed security holographic security thread with demetalized HK50 and Chinese characters, a Cultural Center registration device, and a watermark of Bauhinia flowers with an electrotype 50. It is also a superb gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average margins and registration. Thus, it is graded 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
