The newest version of the 50 Hong Kong dollar is a green banknote that measures 148 mm by 74 mm. The obverse side features the angular Bank of China building in Beijing, a five-petaled Bauhinia flower, the Bank of China logo, and an outline of a butterfly with a 50 in green SPARK Orbital ink. The reverse side features a butterfly resting on a flower. The note has a windowed security thread, a watermark of the Bauhinia flower, and an electrotype watermark of 50 on a pixelated design.
