This uncirculated 50 Hong Kong dollar note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. It is a green note that is dated 1 January 2012, bears the signature of Chief Executive Peter T. S. Wong, and measures 148 mm x 74 mm. Its obverse side shows the HSBC headquarters building, a lion statue, and a SPARK feature of a lion head and 50. Its reverse side depicts a young couple reading cards hanging from ornate lanterns celebrating the Spring Lantern Festival. Security features include a green-to-magenta windowed security thread with a demetalized HK50 and a large HK made up of small letters, an HSBC logo registration device, and a watermark of Bauhinia flowers with an electrotype 50 on a pixelized design.
