This Hong Kong 10 Dollar banknote from 1980 is part of the 1979 - 1982 series. The obverse side of the note depicts the bank logo pattern in underprint and a mythological carp fish jumping out of water. The reverse side features the Chartered Bank headquarters building in Central district, Hong Kong, along with the crowned coat of arms depicting a lion rampant and a unicorn rampant with the Latin word PARTES PER EOAS which means eastern parts. The note measures 151 x 83 mm and contains a solid security thread printed with CBHK to enhance its security features. A watermark image of an allegorical helmeted warrior head is also made visible under a UV light. This particular banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
