This Hong Kong 10 Dollar banknote was issued by the Hong Kong Standard Chartered Bank in January 1985. The banknote's front design depicts the bank logo pattern in underprint and a mythological carp fish jumping out of the water. The reverse side features the old Standard Chartered Bank headquarters building in Central district, Hong Kong, and the crowned coat of arms depicting a lion rampant and unicorn rampant. The coat of arms bears the motto of the British chivalric Order of the Garter, HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, along with a banner reflecting the motto of the British monarch, DIEU ET MON DROIT. The note measures 138 x 69 mm and contains a solid security thread and a watermark image of an Allegorical helmeted warrior head and SCB.
