The Hungary 500 Pengo Banknote was released by the Hungarian National Bank in 1945 with the first letter for the Russian for 500 on the reverse misspelled with an N instead of a Cyrillic character. The banknote comes in a color combination of dark blue and lilac. The obverse bears Hungarian text and features a woman with a wreath on her head. It also shows the Hungarian crowned coat of arms flanked by oak and olive branches. The reverse depicts Hungarian and Russian text and depicts guilloches. The note does not contain a security thread and watermark. It carries the signatures of Imre Oltvanyi, Lajos Farago, and Zsigmond Thaly. It is 180 x 90 mm in size and is in used condition.
