Customer reviews

The 2015 1,000 Indian rupee banknote was part of the Rupee Symbol series, where the symbol for the rupee was added before the denomination. Though some denominations in the series are still in circulation, the 1,000 rupee bank note was demonetized in late 2016. The obverse has the image of Mahatma Gandhi on the right side, the Lion Capital of Ashoka pillar on the lower left-hand corner, and the Reserve Bank of India seal on the lower right-hand corner. The reverse depicts a fusion of agriculture and technology: farmers riding a combine tractor on a wheat field, an offshore oil drilling platform, a steel mill, a satellite and a woman using a computer with a CRT monitor. The security features of the note are a 3-mm wide green-to-blue windowed security thread, an electrotyped 1000 watermark, and a watermark of Mahatma Gandhi and a vertical RBI and 1,000. The note measures 176 x 73 mm.
