The India 1 Rupee Banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of India in 1981. It has a color combination of purple, blue, and orange and bears English and Hindi texts. Its obverse features a 1-rupee coin with the lion capital of the Ashoka pillar. The reverse depicts the reverse of a 1-rupee coin dated 1981. It also shows the Sagar Samrat oil exploration platform and a language panel. The banknote does not contain a security thread. Its watermark reveals the Ashoka pillar. It is 96 x 64 mm in size and is signed by R. N. Malhotra. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has pinholes.
