The India 100 Rupees Banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of India between 1990 and 1996. It has a color combination of purple, black, brown, blue, green, and orange. Its obverse features the RBI seal with a tiger and a palm tree. It also shows a language panel and the lion capital of the Ashoka pillar. The reverse depicts the Hirakud dam across the Mahanadi river near Sambalpur, three women planting rice stalks in a paddy, ears of wheat, two women with baskets picking tea in a field, and a farmer riding a tractor. The banknote contains a solid security thread. Its watermark reveals wheels and the lion capital of Ashoka pillar, the RBI monogram and 100. It is 148 x 73 mm in size and is signed by Shri Venkitaramanan. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and does not have a plate letter.
