This India 2 Rupee banknote from 1977 is part of the 1976 - 1988 series. Its obverse side features a language panel with Hindu text, a peacock, an ornate wheel, the lion capital of Ashoka pillar, and the RBI seal with tiger and palm tree. The reverse side features an image of the Aryabhata satellite orbiting the earth. The note measures 107 x 63 mm and does not contain any security threads however a watermark image of an ornate wheel and the lion capital of the Ashoka pillar are added to the design to enhance the banknote's security.
