This India 200 Rupee banknote from 2018 is part of the 2016-2019 Mahatma Gandhi (New) series. Its front design bears a portrait of an Indian lawyer and political ethicist Mahatma Gandhi who led a successful movement for India's independence from the British colony. The ancient Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar, the denomination as the registration device, flowers, and the RBI seal with tiger and palm tree. The reverse side features a language panel with Hindu text, the Swachh Bharat logo, and the Buddhist complex Sanchi Stupa. The banknote's security features include a windowed security thread with demetalized RBI and Hindu text, a watermark image of Mahatma Gandhi, vertical electrotype 200 and RBI, and a Horizontal 200. The note measures 146 x 66 mm.
