This uncirculated 5 Indian rupee banknote is a standard circulation banknote introduced by the Reserve Bank of India in 2002. It is a green, blue, orange, and purple banknote that bears the signature of Bimal Jalan and the plate letter L, and measures 118 mm x 63 mm. Its obverse side features Mahatma Gandhi, the RBI seal, and the lion capital of the Ashoka pillar. Its reverse side depicts the language panel and a farmer plowing a field with a modern tractor at the break of dawn. Security features include a solid security thread with a demetalized RBI and Hindi text and a watermark of Mahatma Gandhi with a vertical RBI 5. The banknote was withdrawn in 2016.
