This used 500 Indian rupee banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Reserve Bank of India. It is a banknote that is dated 2009, bears the signature of Duvvuri Subbarao, and measures 168 mm x 73 mm. Its obverse side shows the lion capital of Ashoka pillar, the RBI seal, and a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Its reverse side depicts a language panel and the statue of Mahatma Gandhi leading the nation by Gyarah Murti at Mother Teresa Crescent in New Delhi. Security features include a 3-mm wide green-to-blue windowed security thread with demetalized RBI and Hindi text and a watermark of an electrotype 500, Mahatma Gandhi, and a vertical RBI 500. The note was demonetized in 2016.
