The India 500 Rupees Banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of India in 2011. Its obverse side shows the lion capital of the Ashoka pillar, the RBI seal, and a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Its reverse side depicts a language panel and the statue of Mahatma Gandhi leading the nation by Gyarah Murti at Mother Teresa Crescent in New Delhi. Security features include a 3-mm wide green-to-blue windowed security thread with demetalized RBI and Hindi text and a watermark of an electrotype 500, Mahatma Gandhi, and a vertical RBI 500. The banknote is 168 mm x 73 mm and is signed by Duvvuri Subbarao. This particular banknote has no plate letter and is in uncirculated condition.
