Its obverse side shows a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, a lion capital of Ashoka pillar, and the RBI seal. Its reverse side depicts a statue of Gandhi leading the nation by Gyarah Murti and a language panel. Security features include a denomination registration device, a 3-mm wide green-to-blue windowed security thread with a demetalized RBI and India in Hindi text, and a watermark of a vertical electrotype 500 and Mahatma Gandhi. The banknote was demonetized in 2016. The details of this note have been verified and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
