This Indonesia 1,000 Rupiah banknote from 1996 is part of the 1992 - 2001 series. The obverse side of the note depicts a scenic view of Lake Toba on Sumatra Island and the coat of arms of Indonesia. The reverse side features a representation of a stone jumping manhood ritual on Nias Island. The note is 144 x 68 mm in size and contains a solid security thread printed with BANK INDONESIA to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of Indonesian heroine Tjut Meutia.
