This Indonesia 1,000 Rupiah banknote from the 2016 series features national heroes on the front and diverse natural landscapes, flowers, and dancers of Indonesia at the back. On the obverse side of the note is a portrait of anti-colonialist Tjut Meutia along with the map of Indonesia, the national emblem, and the bank logo as the registration device. The reverse side features the Fort Belgica in Banda Neira, Banda Islands in Maluku province, an orchid flower, and a Tari Tifa dancer with a drum. The note is 141 x 66 mm and contains a solid security thread printed with BANK INDONESIA to enhance its security features. A watermark image of Tjut Meutia is also made visible under a UV light.
