The Indonesia 1,000 Rupiah banknote was introduced by the Bank Indonesia in 2016 with hints of green, orange, purple, and red. Featured on its obverse are the map of Indonesia, the national emblem, and a portrait of anti-colonialist Tjut Meutia. The reverse features the Fort Belgica in Banda Neira, the Banda Islands (Spice Islands) in Maluku province, an orchid flower, and a Tari Tifa (dancer with drum). The banknote contains a registration device in the form of the bank logo, a solid security thread with printed BANK INDONESIA, and a watermark that reveals Tjut Meutia. The note measures 141 x 66 mm and bears the signatures of Agus Dermawan Wintarto Martowardojo and Mrs. Sri Mulyani Indrawati. The paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
