This Indonesia 50,000 Rupiah banknote from 1993 was issued to commemorate the first long-term 25-year development period, beginning April 1, 1969, to March 31, 1994. The obverse side of the note depicts a portrait of Soeharto, the Father of Indonesian Development. Alongside his portrait is a water buffalo plowing fields, a highway interchange, a graduation ceremony with doctors and nurses, a satellite, a jet plane, an off-shore oil platform, a ship, a petroleum refinery, a seated Soeharto with an audience, a hologram of Suharto, and the coat of arms of Indonesia. The reverse side features the Boeing 747 airplane in Garuda Indonesia livery soaring above the control tower at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta. The note does not contain any security thread however a shadow watermark image of the bank initials BI is added to the design to enhance the banknote's security. This polymer note measures 152 x 76 mm.
