The 2013 version of the 1,000 Iraqi dinar banknote is the last version of the note that did not have intaglio symbols printed for the sight impaired. The brown note depicts an ancient gold dinar coin on its obverse side, and the Mustansiriya Madrasa in Baghdad, the medieval center of Islamic studies, on its reverse side. The note has a horse head watermark and a solid security thread with demetalized Arabic text. The note is 142 mm long and 66 mm wide.
