This 10,000 Iraqi Dinar Banknote was released in 2003-2010 by the Coalition Provisional Authority and was designed and printed by Thomas De La Rue using modern anti-forgery techniques. The banknote's obverse side features a geometric drawing of optics, and a portrait of Arab scientist Ibn al-Haytham, also known as the father of modern optics. The reverse side features the historical hunchback minaret, and trees at the Great Nur al-Din mosque in Mosul. The note is 170 x 78 mm in size and is equipped with a horse head watermark, and a Solid security thread with demetalized Arabic text, to enhance its security features.
