Customer reviews

As part of the sanctions imposed on Iraq after the Gulf War, the Central Bank of Iraq could not use the Swiss printing method for their banknotes, resulting in inferior quality notes. These emergency issue series was demonetized in 2004 after the Central Bank issued new banknotes. The 5 Iraqi dinar banknote is brownish purple and pink, has no security features, and measures 160 mm x 75 mm. The obverse depicts an idealized image of Saddam Hussein. The reverse features the depiction of Babylonian king Hammurabi receiving laws from Shamash the sun god, and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Baghdad.
