The green and blue 500 Iraqi dinar banknote is part of the new family of banknotes issued by the Coalition Provisional Authority in 2015. The obverse side features the concrete Dukan Dam in the As Sulaymaniyah Governate of the Kurdistan Region. The reverse side portrays the winged bull statue from the Palace of Khorsabad in Dur-Sharrukin (the Fortress of Sargon) and an Assyrian priest. The note has a solid security thread with demetalized Arabic text and a horse head watermark. It measures 142 mm long and 66 mm wide.
