This Iraq 500 Dinar Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Iraq in 2018. The banknote's design aims to modernize the currency with the reflection of the nations heritage and diversity. On the obverse side of the note is the Dukan Dam on the Lesser Zab River in Sulaimania Governorate. The reverse side is a winged bull statue from the Palace of Khorsabad in Dur-Sharrukin also known as the Fortress of Sargon and an Assyrian priest. The note is 142 x 66 mm in size and is equipped with a solid security thread with demetalized Arabic text and a horse head watermark to enhance its security features.
