The Ireland 1 Pound Banknote Is part of the 1982 issues of the Central Bank of Ireland with an Irish history theme. The note is in a color combination of green, olive, pink, and red. The obverse features Medb, the legendary Queen of Connaught. It also shows a pre-Christian geometric design found on bone slips and an excerpt from the Tain. The reverse depicts an extract from the 12th century “Book of the Dun Cow”. The note has a solid security thread and a watermark that reveals Lady Lavery. The note is 148 x 78 mm in size. It is signed by Maurice F. Doyle and Tomas F. O’Cofiagh. This particular Irish 1 pound banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
