This uncirculated 5 Irish pound banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Central Bank of Ireland. It is a yellow and blue note that is dated 15 October 1999, bear the signatures of Muiris S. O’ Conaill and P. Mullarkey, and measures 120 mm x 64 mm. Its obverse side shows the Mater Misericordiae Hospital and a portrait of Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy. Its reverse side depicts three children in a classroom with the first verse of the Irish poem Mise Raifteiri an File by Antoine O’ Raifteiri on the blackboard.
