The purple Isle of Man pound banknote is part of the first series of Isle of Man banknotes printed by Thomas De La Rue and Company. The note measures 128 mm long and 65 mm wide. The obverse side has triskeles surrounded by the motto of Isle of Mans coat of arms at the center, and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing Queen Victorias collet necklace and earrings and a sash bearing the emblems of the Orders of King George V and VI. The reverse side depicts a panoramic view of Tynwald Hill. The note has a solid security thread and a watermark of the triskelion.
