This 1 Isle of Man pound note was introduced by the Isle of Man Government in 1983 and bears the signature of Chief Financial Officer Paul Mark Shimmin. It is a purple note that measures 128 mm x 65 mm. Its obverse side features the map of Isle of Man, a triskelion, and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Its reverse side shows a view of the St. John’s Church on Tynwald Hill. Security features include a solid security thread and a triskelion watermark. It is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
