This vertically oriented Israel 200 New Sheqalim was designed by Naomi and Meir Eshe. It was issued in 2014 with a dimension of 138 x 71 mm. The obverse side of the note depicts a portrait of former President Zalman Shazar along with students in an elementary school classroom and an extracted piece of Shazars speech to Knesset after the Compulsory Education Law was passed. The reverse side features the 15th-century Abuhav Synagogue in Safed and an extracted piece of Shazars essay "Thy Watchers, O Safed". The note is equipped with a solid security thread and a watermark image of Zalman Shazar to enhance its security features.
