The Italy 1,000 Lire Banknote was issued by the Bank of Italy in 1990. The note honors Maria Montessori, the Italian educator who designed the Montessori system. Her portrait and the seal of the Maritime Republics (the provinces of Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa, and Venice) are shown on the front side of the note. The reverse side of the note portrays two schoolchildren studying. Security features include a solid security thread and watermarks of Maria Montessori and an electrotype BI monogram. Its dimensions are 112 mm by 61 mm. This uncirculated note is signed by Antonio Fazio and Angelo Amici. This banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
