The Italy 100,000 Lire Banknote was issued by the Bank of Italy in 1994. It has hints of green, yellow, red, blue, and black. On its obverse are a gypsy girl and a young man from Caravaggio’s painting, The Fortune Teller. It also shows the seal of the Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa, and Venice), and a portrait of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. The reverse depicts Caravaggio’s painting, Basket of Fruit, stylized leaves, and the penal code. The note contains a solid security thread with printed BANCA D’ITALIA and a plain solid security thread. Its watermark reveals Caravaggio and an electrotype BI monogram. It is 156 x 70 mm in size and is signed by Fortunato Speziali and Antonio Fazio. This particular banknote is in used condition.
