Italy 2,000 Lire Banknote, from 1990, has a pick number of P-115, is in used condition, and features Guglielmo Marconi and the seal of the Maritime Republics.


The Italy 2,000 Lire Banknote was issued by the Bank of Italy in 1990. It has a color combination of brown, orange, green, and blue. Featured on the obverse is a portrait of Guglielmo Marconi and the seal of the Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa, and Venice). The reverse depicts four radio towers at the Marconi Wireless Station in Glace Bay in Nova Scotia, Canada. It also shows Marconi's research ship Elettra, radio equipment, and a penal code. The note contains a solid security thread and a watermark that reveals Guglielmo Marconi and an electrotype bank monogram. The note is 119 x 61 mm in size and is signed by Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and Fortunato Speziali. This particular banknote is in used condition.
