This uncirculated 1,000 Jamaican dollar note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Jamaica. It is a blue and green note that is dated 15 January 2009, bears the signature of Derick Latibeaudiere, and measures 145 mm x 68 mm. Its obverse side features Michael Norman Manley, a giant swallow-tailed butterfly (Papilio homerus Fabricius), and the national coat of arms. Its reverse side shows the Jamaica House building on Hope Road, Kingston. Security features include a butterfly registration device, a solid security thread, a red-to-green windowed security thread with demetallized BOJ 1000, and a watermark of Michael Manley with an electrotype 1000 and butterfly, and cornerstones.
