The Jamaica 50 Dollars Banknote was issued by the Bank of Jamaica in 2001. It has a color combination of purple, green, and red. Its obverse side contains English text, an underprint with parrots, morning glory flowers (ipomoea), the national coat of arms, periwinkle flowers, and a portrait of Samuel Sharpe. Its reverse side showcases Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay. Security features include a 2-mm wide windowed security thread with a demetalized BOJ 50 and a watermark of a red-billed streamertail hummingbird (Doctor Bird) with an electrotype star. It is 145 mm x 68 mm and is signed by Governor Derick Milton Latibeaudiere. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60 to 70.
