This Japan 1,000 Yen banknote from 2001 is part of the 1984-2003 Literature series. The obverse side of the note features a portrait of Japanese novelist Natsume Soseki whose famous works include the novels Kokoro, Botchan, and I Am a Cat. The reverse side features two cranes in a mating dance. The note is 150 x 76 mm and does not contain any security threads however a watermark image of Natsume Soseki is made visible under UV light. This note is in uncirculated condition and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
