This orange and brown 1 Japanese silver yen note is part of the first family of Japanese notes to use Western numerals for the serial and series numbers. Its front side features the legendary hero Takeuchi no Sukune, who served under five legendary emperors and is revered as a Shinto god. Its reverse side contains a rosette, a 1-yen coin, and the exchange clause that states that the note is equivalent to one silver yen in English. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark of Japanese text and Paulownia leaves. The note measures 145 mm long and 85 mm wide. This note is in uncirculated condition and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
