This uncirculated 2,000 Japanese yen note is a commemorative banknote issued by the Bank of Japan to celebrate the G8 Summit held in Okinawa. It is a multicolored note that measures 154 mm x 76 mm. Its obverse side features the main gate of Shuri Castle in Naha, Okinawa. Its reverse side shows scrolls and calligraphy depicting The Tales of Genji and the Diary of Lady Murasaki. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark of the gate of Shuri Castle. The details of this note have been verified and TAP Authenticated by Banknote World experts.
