This 1 Jersey pound note is part of the series of banknotes issued by the States of Jersey from 1976 to 1988. It is part of the HB series that was signed by John Clennett. The blue note has dimensions of 135 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side contains a Jersey buttercup flower, the coat of arms of Jersey that consists of three lions passant guardant in a shield, and Anthony Buckleys portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing Queen Alexandras Kokoshnik tiara, King George VIs festoon necklace, and Queen Marys floret earrings. Its reverse side features John Singleton Copleys painting, The Death of Major Peirson, an event that occurred during the Battle of Jersey.
