The Kenya 50 Shillings Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Kenya in 1999. It has a combination of brown and maroon. Its obverse side contains English and Kiswahili text, a view of Mount Kenya, the national coat of arms, and a portrait of Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, the second president of Kenya. Its reverse side depicts the Mombasa Tusks Monument on Moi Avenue and a camel caravan. Security features include an elephant registration device, a windowed security thread with a demetalized CBK 50, and a lion head watermark. The note is 138 mm x 72 mm and is signed by Micah Cheserem and Margaret Chemengich. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60 to 70.
