A month after Kuwait was liberated from Iraq, the Central Bank of Kuwait issued the fourth series of banknotes to ensure the countrys economic recovery and to allow for a quick exchange of the withdrawn third series. The Kuwait dinar banknote is a predominantly light blue note that measures 126 mm by 68 mm. The obverse side features the Kuwait Towers, and the national emblem of Kuwait: a flying falcon below a sailing dhow. The reverse side depicts a busy day in Shuwaikh port. The note has a solid security thread and a watermark of a dhow. The note was eventually demonetized in 2004.
